Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymer microspheres against 4- aminopyridine (4-AP) and trimethoprim (TMP) were synthesized by aqueous micro-suspension polymerization with polyvinyl alcohol 400 as dispersive reagent. The ionic (electrostatic) interaction between molecule and monomer/polymer was used during synthesizing and recognizing process. The interaction mechanisms were compared between TMP and 4-AP imprinted column. The results showed that the interaction between acidic monomer/polymer and template with amino group mainly depended on the ionic (electrostatic) interaction, of which the strength level relied on the number of amino group in template molecules. The results showed that the interaction was the coordinated interaction, but not the simply added interaction
